Nurse Mary Doherty
Nurse/Midwife Nurse Doherty qualified as a nurse in Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry and worked in cardiology at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, before training as a midwife and has 12 years experience working on labour wards in Altnagelvin and Letterkenny, where she was a staff midwife for 8 years. As a registered midwife she is able to provide antenatal and postnatal care and any help and advice needed by mothers to be, in consultation with Dr McIntyre. She is also a qualified cervical smear taker, and has done further training in Diabetes, to enable her to run the practice diabetic clinic in conjunction with the Community Diabetic nurse Specialist, who visits Carrick every 6-8 weeks.
